If I were an alien
How on Earth would I know?
Suppose I found a mirror
What hints then would it show?
If I were an alien
Might I conceal myself
Like treasures in a story
On a timeless wood bookshelf
If I were an alien
No doubt I'd be confused
For how could I be an alien
If in the same form they all used
What is any creature's purpose
In discovering new found land
Other than to adventure wildly
Or to lend a helping hand
If I were an alien
What a fine trip this would be
And if I were not an alien
It'd be all the same to me
For I have found them both
great knowledge and sweet service
So should it really matter then
Whatever planetary surface
Oh, if I were an alien
I would ask then who I am
And in that seeking I would find
I'm the exact same One as man
